Beautifully curvy with a sonorous singing voice (Westminster chimes on the hour) and a seductive waist, this little clock was painstakingly made from two raw Ash an Elm planks. From raw wood to many thin strips formed around a mould, the Scottish woods used in this clock were teased into shape for this Art Nouveau inspired chiming mantle clock.
Layers of thinly sawn Elm were steamed and laminated together to create the sinuous lines of the clock case.
Housed in the hollow shell of Elm is the finest battery powered Westminster chiming clockworks that could be found. The speaker opening is hand carved fretwork, based on an ancient Viking motif.
